International Dinners

On Tuesday evening I went out to eat dinner at a Chinese restaurant with some friends of mine. One of them used to work at this place so she was able to get us a deal. Still expensive for my budget but It was the first time I went out to a restaurant to eat with friends you it was worth it. One problem was that the girls always wanted to talk in Chinese which is one step above impossible for me to understand at this point (although I can understand about a handful of words). The easiest way to switch Chinese into french is start parroting the Chinese, which is always silly.

It was fun and I had a really go time. I think I learned a few things about Chinese culture too (maybe). The food was similar to the Chinese food in style the us but had some different twists to it, French twists. For desert, we had gelato, gelato gelato. It was fresh made and absolutely fantastic.

Last night was the international dinner, which was pot luck style so everyone brought something different. So there were dishes from all around the world. I decided to make
Paistettua Perunaa Ja Makkaraa, a Finnish dish that is basically potatoes, onions, and sausage. Considering that I haven't really make it before I think it wasn't have bad. I made a lot less than I was planning because it shrunk a lot and the frying pan was only so big. It was about enough for a meal for one person and gone in about 10 minutes after I placed it in the mix.

The dinner was hosted a a club so after the dinner was done it turned into something more clubby. Beers were only 2 euros and the first one was free. So there was some drinking and later dancing. I actually think I was the first one to dance on the hexagon (a mini stage in the middle of the club), heh. I got so Italian girls to join in with me and it was all fun.

I met a lot of people last night and there was a lot of pictures taken, except I didn't have my camera so I will try to see if at some point I can round up some pictures. So for now, sorry guys, butI've got nothing for you except a pretty picture of some peppers at the Chambery Market.
